Bio

Kate joined NDARC in 2016 as a Research Program Officer and is currently working with Prof Maree Teesson, A/Prof Nicola Newton, Dr Cath Chapman, Dr Lexine Stapinski and Dr Katrina Champion to manage the CREMS led Positive Choices and Cracks in the Ice Community Toolkit projects.

Kate holds a Graduate Certificate in International Community Development with Distinction at Deakin University (2014) and a Batchelor or Arts in Development Studies and International Relations with Distinction at UNSW Sydney (2012). She has strong project management skills and a keen interest in many contemporary policy and political issues.

Prior to joining NDARC, Kate was a Senior Project Officer at the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM). In this role Kate managed the National HIV Prescriber Program and was responsible for recruiting, training, accrediting and supporting General Practitioners to care for people living with HIV in community settings. Kate worked with governments, clinicians, NGOs and community organisations to improve access to quality HIV care in Australia.

Kate is interested in translating research into policy and evidence based practice.
