Mark Deady is currently employed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UNSW School of Psychiatry. Mark has nearly ten years’ experience in the field of mental health and substance use research. Until 2015 Mark worked for the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre on a range of projects relating to comorbid mental health and substance misuse at a coronial, epidemiological, and clinical level. Mark was awarded his PhD in 2015 for his thesis entitled, ‘Comorbid Depression and Problematic Alcohol Use in Young People: The Development and Evaluation of an Online Intervention.’ Since then Mark has been working on a number of projects to inform NSW government policy around comorbidity and translational work to develop and pilot an online comorbidity tool for NSW Health agencies. In 2015, Mark took up a postdoctoral fellowship in the workplace mental health team at the UNSW School of Psychiatry. He is working on a project to develop and evaluate new e-health technologies to improve the mental health of Australians working in male-dominated industries.
