Dr Christina Marel and A/Prof Katherine Mills will be presenting a webinar on "Co-occurring substance use and mental disorders: Implications for managing and delivering best practice".

The webinar is a CPD event hosted by the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) on Tuesday 24 October 2017, from 7:00pm - 8:00pm AEST.

The webinar will provide a basic introduction to comorbidity (i.e., prevalence, presentation, why it is of clinical concern), highlight the importance of identifying comorbidity, as well as management and treatment options.

It is part of a series of four webinars that will be hosted by CESPHN over the coming months.

Key learning outcomes:

  • Understanding of what is comorbidity, why it occurs, and why it is concerning;
  • Improved awareness of how to access a range of evidence-based options for identifying, managing and treating mental health symptoms within a holistic health care approach;
  • Understanding of a coordinated approach to managing comorbidity, and how to involve multiple services to deliver coordinated care.
